The Sporran Crypto Wallet​

For the crypto wallet, decent.ec uses Sporran, which is a browser extension designed primarily for managing KILT Coins and creating digital identities. It is a gateway to the KILT blockchain, functioning similarly to other cryptocurrency wallets but with added features for digital identity management.

Now let’s see how you can create a Sporran crypto wallet.

Creating Your Sporran Crypto Wallet​

By clicking the “Create Identity” button, a warning window appears. As is customary during crypto wallet creation, a list of random words will be displayed before the wallet is created. This list should be securely stored, as it is required to restore the wallet if needed.

Click the “I understand this – go to the phrase” button.

The list of backup words is shown here in order.

Note that the words are blurred; you can reveal them by hovering over them with your cursor.

Write these words down on a piece of paper, making sure to keep both the words and their order.

Then click the “Next Step” button.

Now, provide the words in order by clicking on them.

Then click “Next Step.”

The next step is to set a password.

To enhance security, please create a complex password that is easy to remember. Use a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters, and ensure it is at least 12 characters long.

Note that the colour of the lock image indicates the strength of your password. Your password is considered adequate if the lock's colour and the requirements under “You need to use” change from red to blue.

When the password is set, click the “Next Step” button.

You have now successfully created your user account.

Click “Ok” to confirm it.

Now you can change your identity name.

Click the down-pointing arrow on the right side of your current identity name.

The dropdown offers 3 options:

  • Edit Identity Name

  • Remove Identity

  • Reset Password

Click “Edit Identity Name.”

Now, type your new identity name into the text field and press either “Enter” or the check button on the right-hand side.

Note that there are other options in this window; however, we will cover them in the relevant sections of this guide.
